The City of Gainesville installed geo-thermal units on our largest municipal swimming pool so that we could operate on a year-round basis. From the beginning, Symbiont’s knowledgeable and courteous staff guided us through the process, answered all of our questions, provided important and relevant data, and designed a system that exceeded our expectations. The system came online during the back-to-back brutal winters, and the heating system performed wonderfully! Not only were we impressed at the ability of the system to handle the toughest winter conditions, but it has been operating more efficiently than we had projected. An added bonus was the fact that in the summer we could set the system to cool the pool water. Our citizens have been most impressed with the system, and city staff couldn’t be more pleased with the performance of the units. Attendance at the pool has skyrocketed since the system was installed. And even after the system was installed and operating, Symbiont staff has continued to be there for us, always answering our questions, providing guidance, and meeting our needs. Their service division staff always responds in a quick and timely manner, and has been great at performing preventative maintenance on the units. I know because of you and your organization that you receive a lot of well done letters, but I thought it would be quite different receiving one from 16 years ago. It all started with your father, Roy. Phyllis and I wanted to build the most energy efficient house possible for that time. So did your Dad. We put together a geothermal heat and air conditioning system which included a Symbiont pool heater. Thanks to Jim, the foreman, it all worked out and we were featured in several publications.
We decided to do an upgrade because of a government incentive. Contacting Mike King, he found us the latest geothermal Florida heat pump.
We had planned to leave for a Europe vacation and I don’t think I would have OK’d the installation without me being present, but Mike assured me it would be done in Symbiont fashion. It has been looked at by several professionals all with their approval. It was completed on time and on budget.
In your service department we have been fortunate to have a relationship with Liz. She has been great.
Here is a fact that might be hard to believe. The Symbiont water source pool heater is still operating like the day it was installed 16 years ago. Let Dad know.

From October of last year to May 30 of this year we have saved approximately $45,000.00 that would have been used to pay for our gas. Last year, when the cost of a barrel of oil was above $150 and our fuel gas bills were averaging four and sometimes $5,000 per month, we decided since we were already a somewhat “green” community that we needed to research alternate sources to heat our pool and spa. As President, I created an Ad Hoc Geo Thermal Committee and our three person team contacted Symbiont for research, methods of installation, and costs to install and maintain. We held meetings in our clubhouse, which were attended by our residents, and your people were more than willing to attend and answer any and all questions they had about your product. It was rather stressful for some of our seniors because they were concerned about the what ifs, but your company was more than willing to address those concerns in a very professional manner.
I believe we signed a contract with your company in August and the installation began. Since the drilling of wells is integral to your product, you referred to our association a well driller, which did a tremendous job. They were very professional, neat, didn’t damage any of our grounds or shrubs, and checked with management on a daily basis. We had a concrete slab poured where your units would sit, ran piping, and away we went.
The results have been terrific to say the least. From a finanacial standpoint, this has been the best thing we have ever done here in Vizcaya. Our costs this year to date, as compared to our costs from last year, have reduced two or three thousand dollars per MONTH. Our objective is to pay back the three year loan we secured to purchase your system in two years from the savings. Once that is paid back we feel we’ll be able to save the association $20,000 per year from now on based on past fuel costs. The units are attractive, they are extremely quiet, and as President, I have heard of NO complaints from any of our residents regarding your product and its performance.
It’s been a pleasure working with Symbiont and we hope that this relationship will continue for years to come.

I would like to tell you how pleased that the residents of the “Villas of Sabal Trace” are with the new pool heater “Symbiont Water Source Heat Pump.” Since we had it installed in December of 2006, the water temperature has maintained its set temperature of 85 degrees during our winter months. Also, the system maintains the 85 degrees during the summer time. Before this system was installed, we were having problems with keeping the pool temperature warm enough for our residents to swim during the winter months. It has been very reliable.
