Duct Sealing Is A Proven Way To Keep The Air You’ve Paid To Cool

By: Michael King | Category: Air Conditioning, Air Ducts, Air Filters, Energy Evaluations, Furnaces, Heating, IAQ – Indoor Air Quality, Service & Maintenance |

It’s a hot day in Florida, and you step into your house from the blistering heat to find that your main foyer is quite stuffy. You know you paid your air conditioning bill this month, as you remember gawking at the price when reading the bill. Where is that cool air going? Chances are good that it’s being lost during its travels through your ducts.

Even the tiniest leaks in your duct infrastructure can waste up to 25 percent of your cool air. Being able to find these leaks and cracks can be an arduous task, since the ducts are often hidden in ceilings or behind walls. Hiring a professional contractor for a duct sealing procedure is a sure way to keep your house as cool as possible while saving money and energy.

Without treating your ducts through duct sealing, Floridians could also be at risk for a health issue as well. Gas appliances, dryers and furnaces release harmful gases that could be sucked into these leaky ducts through a process known as “back drafting.” House dwellers would then be at risk for breathing these in and suffering from health complications down the line.

Duct sealing is a no-brainer type of service that any Sunshine State resident should have done if they are interested in keeping cool, saving money and energy and keeping their families safe. We at Symbiont Service Corp would be happy to offer professional advice and answer any questions you may have.

Our goal is to help educate our customers about energy and home comfort issues (specific to HVAC systems).  For more information, click here to download our free Home Comfort Resource guide.
