Efficient Ways To Heat Your Swimming Pool
Efficient Ways To Heat Your Swimming Pool: Tips from Symbiont Service Geo Thermal Professionals
You’re looking forward to a swim either before or after work, but the idea of stepping to chilly water isn’t your idea of a relaxing way to get in a quick cardiovascular workout, right? The geo thermal professionals from Symbiont Service explain there are efficient ways to heat your swimming pool water year round without breaking the bank. Using geothermal heating provides pool owners a way to efficiently and effectively heat the pool water while cutting energy and utility bill costs by close to 80 percent.
Geothermal heating generates savings because it uses ambient energy present in the environment, rather than having to create energy.
How Does Geothermal Pool Heating Work?
The way geothermal heating works is this, as an example. If you live near a body of water, a cooling tower, coils or pipes can be laid at the bottom of the water. The water will transfer heat at a rate 25 times faster than air; this makes underwater geothermal heat pump systems more energy efficient than an air sourced heat pumps. The average temperature, at the bottom of a body of ground water, in Florida, is a stable 75 degrees. The water from the source is pumped through a heat exchanger, the heat (energy) is harvested. This energy is then transferred to your swimming pool to heat it. The source water is returned to its origin and no negative environmental impact is created.
During the warmer summer season, the energy that is harvested can be used to cool the pool water; this is accomplished through a reverse-cycle chiller. The placement of your swimming pool may mean the water is too uncomfortably warm to swim — this is not an issue that is faced by pool owners in cooler climates, but Florida pool owners know that swimming in bath-warm-water is not a refreshing time.
The benefit of geothermal means that you won’t be paying to heat or cool the pool water unnecessarily. With geothermal you will only pay for the electricity generated during operation. Installation is simpler than a typical geothermal system, as no drilling is involved, and the piping and other system components generally require little maintenance.
Efficient Ways To Heat Your Swimming Pool

- Reduced energy consumption
- Lower pool heating bills
- Minimal impact on the environment
- Low-maintenance
- Easy access to system components when maintenance is required
- Long lifespan
- Runs quiet
- Blends in with the scenery
- Long-term energy savings and return on investment are quickly realized
