Symbiont Service Team Volunteers During Hurricane Irma Clean-up
Before, during and after #HurricaneIrma, Sandy King, president of Symbiont Service Corp said her employees pulled together to prepare the business to weather the storm. “We had team members boarding up the windows at the store, securing equipment and doing everything necessary to assure everything was as safe as possible,” she said. “We also had a few team members who stayed at the store during the height of the hurricane because they felt safer there than at home.”
After the storm passed, Sandy and her team jumped into action to get the business back up and running, “We knew we were going to have customers who would need to have their pool heaters and their home air conditioning units inspected before they were able to safely turn them back on and we wanted to be ready when our customers needed us.”
Symbiont Service Team Volunteers During Hurricane Irma Clean-up
As of Wednesday, about 90% of the Symbiont Service team has returned to the area after the evacuation. Sandy said, not everyone who works for evacuated the area.
Prior to Hurricane Irma, Symbiont Service was working with the Englewood United Methodist Church to pack cleaning supply buckets to be sent to the survivors of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. “We’re still purchasing the cleaning supplies and packing buckets, but may focus our efforts on those in Florida who need our assistance.”
If you’re in need of assistance and help with post-Hurricane clean-up call the Symbiont Service office and let them know. Also, if you need help or need your air conditioner or pool heater inspected because it was submerged during the hurricane, call and schedule one today. “Be safe,” Sandy said. “Don’t turn on electrical equipment until you’re assured it’s safe and operational.”
Symbiont’s experienced team is available and open to help anyone in need. “We are grateful and blessed to have come through this hurricane. Our prayers go out to those who have suffered any losses and who are still being impacted.” Every one of Symbiont Service’s close to fifty team members are given five hours annually to spend in community service and volunteerism and Sandy said, “I think everyone on the team has met and exceeded those hours during this recent weather event. I am so proud of everyone I work with.”
One of the core values Symbiont Service and its team members adhere to is “maintaining symbiontic relationships with our community and our customers.”
