Today we’ll dive into the particulars of the header system and how it all works.
The header system in front of us today is a fairly large system. We plumb what is known as a “reverse return header system.” The purpose of such a system is to create an equal flow in every area by equalizing pressure throughout the whole unit.

Having individual drops assigned to each heater allows us to turn off and isolate an individual heater if the need to inspect and do maintenance on that heater arises. On top of this, the units possess PT ports—mechanisms by which we install our own gauges and temperature sensors, so we can adjustments accordingly.
