Today, let’s take a look at their geothermal heating system for it and discuss
how our system helped save Riverwood thousands of dollars.

The Riverwood Activity Center recently demolished its undersized pool and rebuilt a pool that is twice the size of the old pool. Today I’ll explain why bringing in Symbiont Service Corp at the beginning of the project helped them save thousands of dollars heating the new one.
The original pool had four PH-090 geothermal pool heaters that still ran well and had quite a bit of life left in them. The new pool required twice as many heaters. We were able to leave the existing four heaters and, by increasing the pool piping (which sends the pool water to the heaters), we were able to add an additional four heaters to the pool filtration system.
Riverwood originally had only one well to feed warm water to the heaters, with a second well to return the now colder well water back to the aquifer. However, by adding four additional heaters, we had to drill a second supply well and then drill a new larger injection well further away. Riverwood’s original injection well was restricting the water going back into the aquifer, and with the addition of the new heaters, it made sense to drill a larger injection well that could handle the increased well water required by the additional four heaters.

With the addition of four heaters to the system for this new larger pool, the residents can swim in a warm pool even if the outside temperature is cold. By bringing us in at the beginning of this project, we were able to save Riverwood thousands of dollars in upgrading their existing heating system.
The next time you are looking to make changes to your existing pool, feel free to reach out to us here at Symbiont from the beginning. Let us show you how we can save you thousands of dollars on your next project.
