One of our incredible team members, Terry Cicchella, recently recorded an on-location message at Riverwood Activity Center as a continuation of our recent discussion on the geothermal heating system we installed there. If you missed part one of this message, you can view that installment here.
The Riverwood Community Center recently demolished its undersized pool and rebuilt a pool that is twice the size of the old one. Bringing Symbiont Service Corp in at the beginning of the project helped the Riverwood Activity Center save thousands of dollars in heating the new pool.
The original pool had four PH-090 geothermal pool heaters that still ran well and had quite a bit of life left in them. However, the new pool required twice as many heaters. We were able to leave the existing four heaters by increasing the pool piping (which sends the pool water to the heaters), therefore allowing us to add an additional four heaters to the pool filtration system. By doing this, we were able to leave the existing heaters alone and just add a new bank of four heaters.
Riverwood originally had only one well to feed warm water to the heaters with a second well to return the now-colder well water back to the aquifer. However, by adding four additional heaters we had to drill a second supply well and then drill a new larger injection well further away. Riverwood’s original injection well was restricting the water going back into the aquifer and with the addition of the new heaters, it made sense to drill a larger injection well that could handle the increased well water required by the additional four heaters.

We’re able to provide pool heating solutions that are not only extremely effective, but that are also very affordable.

With the addition of four heaters to the system for this new, larger pool, the residents can swim in a warm pool even if the outside temperature is cold. By bringing Symbiont in at the beginning of this project, we were able to save Riverwood thousands of dollars in upgrading their existing heating system. Next time you are looking to make changes to your existing pool, give Symbiont a call at the beginning and let us show you how we can save you thousands of dollars on your next project.
Having us involved in the design process for projects like this is truly invaluable, as the system we’ve installed here at the Riverwood Activity Center shows. We’re able to provide pool heating solutions that are not only extremely effective, but that are also very affordable.
If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
