We’re back for part two of our Jupiter pool heater source pump control upgrade. We’ve finally installed the variable frequency drives and wanted to show you the new system that’s up and running today. If you missed part one of this message, you can view it here.

When the pumps come on, they come on in succession until they reach the desired pressure. This way, the units don’t exceed manufacturer specifications for pressure.

The beauty of installing the VFDs include the soft-starting capability I mentioned before, as well as the ability to set the pump by pressure. Also, if you run a pump at 80% speed, you’ll save 50% on your electrical consumption. Not only will the drive protect the unit it saves on energy consumption and extends the life of the pump.

We also installed an expansion tank, which allows us to build pressure in the system and cycle the system off. When the heaters are done, the valve closes, and the pressure rises to a pre-set point.

If you have any questions for us about this product or about anything else relating to your geothermal pool heating needs, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
