Remember: The 20kw Honeywell generator is designed to serve as a backup power source. Per Florida building codes, the generators must be anchored to the ground using cement pads to prevent storm-related damage in the event of a hurricane or other natural disaster.

On the note of proper installation, it’s also crucial that the generator’s accompanying transfer panel is located near your home’s meter socket and main power panel.
If the property the generator is installed on uses natural gas, it’s important that the unit is installed near that, as well. This will make it easier for gas and power lines to be rerouted through the generator and will also ensure that the generator functions properly. Location is critical when installing a generator.
