Planned Maintenance Prevents Unexpected Surprises

By: Robbi Hess | Category: Preventative Maintenance |

When it comes to major appliances, preventative maintenance is always best. Waiting for something to break down or crossing your fingers and hoping it doesn’t will usually mean an emergency service visit, usually after hours and on a holiday! Planned maintenance prevents unexpected surprises.

Budgeting for a maintenance visit for your heating or air conditioning unit may not be at the top of your priority list, but the money you put into preventative maintenance pays off in the long run. Additionally, if you have one of our experienced geothermal service technicians pay a maintenance visit and there is a potential issue, you may have time to plan for it and have it addressed before you’re freezing or roasting if it breaks down when you’re not prepared.

A planned maintenance visit is one of the best ways you can ensure the heating and/or cooling system will be ready when you need it the most. Schedule a regular service visit with one of our qualified professionals to keep the HVAC system running smoothly and efficiently. Plan for a service visit in the spring and one before cooler weather settles in.

An inspection and preventative maintenance visit will address the HVAC’s major components. Necessary repairs will be performed that day or an additional service visit may need to be scheduled, depending on the severity of the issue.

Planned Maintenance Prevents Unexpected Surprises

When the Symbiont Service geothermal technician arrives for the planned maintenance visit, here are some of the tasks that will be performed.

  • The thermostat will be checked to make certain temperature settings are correctly calibrated
  • Electrical connections will be inspected, if any issues are identified, they will be corrected to address potential safety hazards
  • All moving parts will be lubricated to prevent wear and tear
  • System controls will be inspected to ensure continual, safe system operation
  • The condensor drain will be cleaned to prevent moisture or bacteria build up
  • Filters will be cleaned and/or replaced

Our technicians inspect for potential issues that might cause system failure. He or she will recommend solutions, potential costs and how long he or she feels it will be before the issue needs to be addressed. Some repairs may be able to be made immediately, especially those that are hazardous.

Preventative maintenance not only assures the HVAC system is operating efficiently, but it can also extend the life of the system. Peace of mind is one of the biggest factors that a preventative maintenance service visit provides and you can’t put a price tag on that.
