Benefits Of Heating Pool Water With Geo Thermal Energy
Are you looking for an energy- and cost-efficient way to heat your swimming pool water? There are many benefits of heating pool water with geothermal energy, not the least of which is the money-savings you will reap! Geothermal energy is both cost-efficient and cost-effective and another benefit is that it is better for the environment.
If you’re looking for a way to heat, and cool, your pool or even your house geothermal is ideal. Another benefit of this type of environmentally friendly heating unit is that it is below the surface of the earth and may not be impacted by power outages that occur during hurricane season.
Benefits Of Heating Pool Water With Geo-Thermal Energy
Geothermal makes use of heat that is found naturally below the surface of the ground, is harnessed and used to heat your house or your pool.
The way geothermal energy systems work is:
- It collects water from an external source
- Extracts the heat from it
- Transfers the heat to the water in your pool.
To make this happen, water passes from the external water source, through your pool and into the geothermal heating unit.
Once the water is inside the heater, a refrigerant will absorb the heat from the external water source before transferring it to the water in the pool. The water, that has been newly heated will be cycled back to the pool, the external water is discharged back into its source (the lake, well or pond). The heating cycle is repeated until the water in the swimming pool reaches the temperature you’ve chosen.
During the entire water exchange process, the water streams never come in contact. This means your pool water isn’t contaminated by the external water source and the external water source won’t be exposed to the pool’s chemically treated water.
Considerations for a geothermal water heating unit:
- They are environmentally friendly. When you use a geothermal unit you will be using a smaller carbon footprint to heat your pool water. A geothermal unit doesn’t release any harmful emissions.
- You will pay more up front to have a geothermal unit installed but will reap the benefits of lower operating costs over the life of the unit. Ask us how long it will take for you to see a return on your investment of the cost of the unit versus the savings on your energy bills.
