How Good Home Air Quality Can Fight COVID

Due to these trying times of COVID cases spiking throughout the U.S., we have decided to recognize December as “Indoor Air Quality Month.” Today we’re bringing you along for the installation of some new air filtration systems.
All filters that you can buy are rated by their Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (“MERV” for short). The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient that filter is, and the better it is at removing smaller particles in the air. At 0:41 in the video above, you’ll see a MERV 11 filter, which removes between one and three microns of particles in the air. We’re talking about particles you can’t see with the naked eye, and a rating of 11 is pretty standard. If you need something stronger because of allergies or asthma, we recommend going up to a MERV 16 filter.
At 1:20 in the video above, you can see how the installation of the MERV filter works in one of our systems; it’s pretty easy to do. After that’s installed, we can add an air purifier to the system—in this case, the Reme HALO-LED. It purifies air, kills odors, and is 99.9% effective on viruses, including COVID-19.
