Project: GeoThermal Pool Heating and Cooling
A client for over 30 years, the Venice YMCA originally hired us to install a well-source GeoThermal system for their 610,000-gallon pool in 1992, followed by a GeoThermal system for their 800-gallon whirlpool spa in 2005.
The pool is heated and cooled to 82°F year-round by five (5) SymbiontTM Model PH-215-RV GeoThermal Heat Pumps extracting heat from a deep aquifer well installed on the property for this purpose. The spa is heated to a constant 104°F by two (2) SymbiontTM Model PH-090-T GeoThermal Heat Pumps, using pool water for the heat source.
With GeoThermal heating and cooling, the Venice Y saves over $31,000 in annual operation costs compared to gas heating! Those savings indicate that their GeoThermal system paid for itself in a little over two years.
