- 1. Why should I heat my pool with GeoThermal instead of the other systems available?
- GeoThermal:
- Heats like gas at a fraction of the cost. (Typically 70% to 90% cheaper to operate than gas.)
- Approximately 30% cheaper to operate than heat pumps. (Much better heating performance.)
- Units last twice as long. (15 to 20 year serviceable life expectancy compared to 5 to 10 years with other heating applications.)
- Can cool the pool in the summer, if desired.
- Environmentally friendly.
- 2. What is a GeoThermal heat pump? How does it work?
- They are water source heat pumps. Like any heat pump, they transfer heat from one place to another. These transfer heat from the source (well, lake, etc) water to the pool water. The two bodies of water never mix.
- 3. Why don’t we just use the pool as the source instead of wells?
- We are transferring heat. We can’t transfer heat from the pool to heat the pool. The heat has to come from somewhere else.
- 4. Well temperatures in Florida average 75°F. How to we get the pool warmer than 75°F?
- The GeoThermal is capable of heating the pool to your desired temperature. We are not limited to the temperature of the heat source. We can transfer heat from a colder place to a warmer place.
- 5. Can this heat my spa?
- Yes, we heat spas all the time.
- 6. Do I need an extra well to heat the spa?
- No, the same wells being used to heat the pool can be used to heat the spa.
- 7. Does geo heat as well as gas?
- It can heat as well as gas. It is all in the sizing. A gas heater has a constant BTU output. So does a SYMBIONT™. As long as enough Symbionts are used, we can match or even exceed the BTU output of the gas heater. Sometimes we do just that in the cases where the gas heater does not do the job (it is undersized). We put in more heat and the customer gets better performance and saves a ton of money.
- 8. How big are the units & how much space does the system take up?
- Usually more room than a gas heater, but they can go inside or outside, and can be stacked, if need be.
- 9. How big are the wells?

- 10. Can you guarantee the performance?
- I could, but the gas company doesn’t guarantee performance. No one does. This is a proven system, talk to our references about performance. Most switched from gas to geo.
