Before and After Hurricane Ian: Protecting a Vulnerable Client

By: Vyral Marketing | Category: Hurricanes, Preventative Maintenance, Symbiont Updates

Here’s what you need to know about picking the right GeoThermal expert.

Who you pick to install your GeoThermal pool heating system matters. The right expert can save you time and money by doing things right the first time, and they can help you when disaster strikes.

Hurricane Ian recently decimated Florida’s coasts, and many areas were hit hard. As a result, some places had their GeoThermal heating systems ruined by the storm. One such place was the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club. Unfortunately, their previous installer didn’t take the proper precautions to prepare for the storm, so we came in to set things right.

In the video above, you can see before and after pictures of how we were able to fix the club’s GeoThermal pool and spa heating system. However, we also took preventative measures to protect against the next storm, like installing bolted tie-downs that can withstand 150-mph wind.

If your organization suffered GeoThermal damage from Hurricane Ian, or if you want to protect yourself against the next storm, just call or email us. We’d love to help you out.

The Process of Installing GeoThermal Pool Heaters

By: Vyral Marketing | Category: GeoThermal Energy, Heat Pumps, Service & Maintenance

See how we prepare to install water pumps at the Westwind Inn pool.

How Can We Help You? Contact Us Today

We have a GeoThermal heat pump installation today, and you’re invited to join us for a step-by-step look! You’ll be able to see how we prepare the Westwind Inn, a local condominium complex, for the installation process. Here’s what we do:

1. Clear a path for installation
2. Remove pre-existing pumps
3. Pour a concrete pad

“

Follow along in the video to see what we do for each step.

”

4. Place PH90 heating units
5. Make sure there is easy access for units and gates
6. Install aquifer wells to feed heat pumps
7. Dig along a perimeter for underground wiring

Follow along in the video to see what we do for each step. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out to us. We’d be glad to help you.

Where Does the Water Come From in a Geothermal Heat Pump?

By: Vyral Marketing | Category: Blog, GeoThermal Energy, Heat Pumps

In this installment of my series on pool heating methods, I’ll discuss
two sources of water used in a geothermal heat pump system.

How Can We Help You? Contact Us Today

In continuation of my series, “Choosing the Right Swimming Pool Heating System,” I want to discuss how geothermal heat pumps work.

With a geothermal heat pump, where does the water come from? There are multiple options, depending on your location:

  • A supply well. Water is drawn from underground rivers, pumped through the system, and then returned to the ground in a separate, return well. For a 30-gallon project, we put the return well 100 feet away.
  • A freshwater lake. If the lake is near enough and large enough, the lake can be used in place of a well, assuming it’s in a location that’s not liable to freeze. The lake needs to be 10 times the surface area of the pool you’re heating and at least five feet deep.

“

If the lake is near enough and large enough,

the lake can be used in place of a well.

”

  • A cooling tower.
  • A groundwater closed loop.

Stay tuned for the next installment of my series. Until then, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at Symbiont Service Corp. We’d be glad to help.

The GeoThermal System’s Indoor Portion: What It Involves

By: Michael King | Category: GeoThermal Energy

The GeoThermal System's Indoor Portion: What It InvolvesA geothermal heating and cooling system consists of an indoor and an outdoor portion, both of which are vital to the system’s function. The basic structure of a water-source geothermal system requires an outdoor system of pipes, often referred to as the water loop, placed in a well, aquifer, lake or other water source at a depth where the water retains a consistent year-round temperature. Ground-source heat pumps use a similar loop system buried at a distance beneath the surface where the temperature stays about 50 degrees all year long.
