Weather the Storm: Safeguard Your Pool Heating System From Hurricanes
These tips will help prepare your pool heating systems for a hurricane.
Hurricane season is upon us. Despite recently recovering from Hurricane Ian, it’s important to continually prepare for the possibility of another storm. To help you with this, we’re sharing what you should do for your pool heating system to keep you prepared for a hurricane.
Our customer from Edgewater Club in Englewood, Florida, was at the epicenter of Hurricane Ian. However, they followed our recommendations. They inspected their units and hurricane straps for good condition and ensured no rust or missing screws. They also turned off their power, which helped them withstand the hurricane impressively well. Everything is still intact and nothing was blown away.
Along with checking your hurricane straps, we advise you to turn off the power to the heaters and all of your power equipment during a hurricane. Once the storm has passed and conditions are safe, we recommend calling us before turning your equipment back on. Several safety checks need to be conducted to ensure the units are safe to operate.
