Today we want to inform you about a few important things. First and foremost, we wanted to let you know about the upcoming federal energy tax credit change. It will drop from 26% this year to 22% in 2021. If you’re considering purchasing a GeoThermal system anytime soon, make sure you get it purchased by the end of the year, or you’ll stand to lose 4%.
Next, we’re excited to have you along with us to preview a project we have going on right now. This will be the first in a series of blogs about this project. It’s 100 tons of residential applications with five separate buildings.
At 0:58 in the video above, you’ll see our supply wells. They’re six-inch wells with 15-horsepower pumps that each produce 300 gallons a minute. The reason there are two of them is to safeguard against one of the pumps failing. They’re accompanied by two sand separators that get rid of any sand that might be in the water.

another 18 months.”
At 1:38, we’re in the mechanical room. The pump takes the water into this room and then into a titanium heat exchanger. It keeps well water from contaminating any units. We simply pump the water into it and send it to a discharge well that’s 1,300 feet away. At the closed-loop side, there are two 15-horsepower loop pumps—again, to safeguard from one of the pumps failing.
At 2:17, we’re taking a look at the automation system. This contains a number of one-inch holes that act as sensors to gather data. The data is then sent back to the central computer so that it always knows what’s happening.
This is a big project, and it will probably take another 18 months. We’ll be back soon with another video to show you our progress.
