GeoThermal Pool Heating: Six Lakes Country Club’s Solution to Rising Propane Costs

By: Symbiont Service | Category: Blog, GeoThermal Energy, Swimming Pools

Are you considering switching from propane to GeoThermal pool heating? This article from the Six Lakes Country Club is a must-read.

Skyrocketing propane costs caused Six Lakes Country Club in North Fort Myers, who uses propane pool heaters, to consider other heating methods. Since meeting Board Treasurer Tom Goldsmith at an HOA tradeshow, we’ve been working with the Six Lakes Board of Directors on a plan to exchange their propane pool heaters for a GeoThermal pool heating system. The board carefully weighed the costs of propane vs. GeoThermal. They concluded that the GeoThermal system will pay for itself in three years or less and continue to provide energy savings in the future.

Mr. Goldsmith wrote the following article, The GeoThermal Solution, to inform the Six Lakes HOA members of the reasons behind the board’s decision to go GeoThermal. The article provides a brief but excellent overview of GeoThermal technology, as well as an authentic cost comparison of GeoThermal and propane pool heaters. In presenting the benefits of GeoThermal, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

What Is The Best Pool Water Temperature?

By: Robbi Hess | Category: Blog, GeoThermal Energy

What Is The Best Pool Water Temperature?Chances are you have heard of Polar Bear swimming. It is when people take a plunge into freezing cold water – many times for a charity fundraiser or maybe because they just want the thrill of having said they did it!

If you’re a pool owner or if you’re visiting a hotel with a pool you don’t want to jump into water so cold it takes your breath away. Swimming pool water temperature matters for your comfort as well as for the water chemistry. If the water is too warm it invites bacteria and algae to grow and bloom. Water temperatures in the 85 degree range is an invitation for bacteria to curl up in a corner of the pool and begin growing. Sometimes you don’t notice it until it’s too late and it could happen because you’ve neglected to clean a space under or behind the pool steps, for example.
