How GeoThermal Heating Outperforms Its Competitors
How GeoThermal heating keeps your pool warm despite outside temps.
Today, I’m excited to join Patrick Morse, one of our GeoThermal specialists, as he shares insights from a recent visit to two properties—one equipped with GeoThermal pool heating and the other with air source heat pumps. Despite the chilly morning, Patrick’s observations underscored the superiority of GeoThermal pool heating over air source systems.
At this site, they currently rely on four air-source heat pumps for pool heating. Positioned right by the beach, the property offers a picturesque setting. However, even with today’s temperature reaching about 70 degrees, the pool struggles to maintain heat. The thermometer reads 76 degrees, indicating significant heat loss. This highlights the limitations of air source heat pumps, especially on colder days, often necessitating gas backups to supplement heating.
“GeoThermal pumps are unaffected by outside temperatures.”
Now, let’s contrast this with our neighbors’ property, equipped with GeoThermal units. As I approach, you’ll notice that the units are not running. Why? Because the pool temperature is already a toasty 86 degrees, surpassing the outdoor temperature of 70 degrees. This demonstrates the efficiency of GeoThermal water source heat pumps, which remain unaffected by external temperatures. They consistently deliver heat to the pool, even during chilly nights and cold weather.
If you’re considering upgrading your pool heating system, give us a call or send us an email. We’d be happy to provide a free estimate and explore how GeoThermal technology can enhance your property’s comfort and efficiency.
